Giant Group's annual Ride Like King event once again brought together riders from around the world to honor company founder King Liu’s longstanding efforts to raise awareness about the benefits of cycling. Participants helped generate hundreds of bike donations for communities in need.

Organized in partnership with Zwift and World Bicycle Relief, the 14th annual Ride Like King event was held over three days in May. More than 3,500 participants joined online Zwift rides, and thousands more organized their own outdoor group rides worldwide.

For the Zwift rides, one World Bicycle Relief Buffalo Bicycle was donated for every 1,000km ridden. Beyond that, Giant Group, the parent company of the Giant, Liv, Momentum and CADEX brands, pledged to match that donation, making it two bikes per 1,000km. Participants ended up riding 100,000km collectively on Zwift, so a total of 200 bikes were earned. And to recognize all the outdoor participants, Giant Group added another 100 Buffalo Bicycles, bringing the final tally to 300.

The Buffalo Bicycle is a purpose-built bike that’s engineered for heavy loads, long distances and rugged terrain. The bikes are simple to maintain and easy to repair, ensuring years of reliable use in harsh conditions. They are manufactured by Giant Group and assembled by World Bicycle Relief employees in local regions around the world.

Participants in RLK14 rode in nine Zwift rides over three days with an open or women’s option for each event. The rides were each supported by Giant or Liv racers from partner teams including Team BikeExchange-Jayco, Liv Racing Xstra, Roxsolt Liv SRAM, the Giant Factory Off-Road Team and Liv Racing Collective, along with other athletes and ambassadors and staff representing the brands.

Five limited-edition RLK14 jerseys were awarded to participants through a random drawing on each of the nine Zwift rides. Beyond that, riders who participated in outdoor rides had a chance to win these special jerseys through a photo contest. Ten riders in total were selected as winners, based on photos that they posted to Facebook and Instagram.
